Lymphatic Drainage Reflexology
RLD Treatment
60 Minute Treatment - £40.00

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) is a specialist reflexology technique which stimulates specific lymphatic reflexes on the feet. It is a very effective way to stimulate the body to reduce swelling, clear toxins and blockages as well as to boost our ability to fight infection.

RLD is an award winning reflexology treatment, researched through extensive clinical practice by award winning Sally Kay BSc (Hons) in complementary therapies.

The treatment was developed initially through clinical practice while working in cancer care outpatient clinics. Many of the patients had been treated for breast cancer and consequently suffered secondary lymphoedema.

RLD can also be beneficial for other chronic long term conditions such as M.E, Fibromyalgia and Arthritis.
Why RLD Reflexology
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. According to Cancer Research UK (2011), the lifetime risk of developing it in the UK is 1:8 for women and 1:1014 for men. Approximately 20% of these patients develop secondary lymphoedema of the arm following treatment for breast cancer.

Lymphoedema is defined as tissue swelling due to the failure of lymph drainage. After breast cancer a person may experience psychological or emotional difficulties due to altered body image, and a swollen limb can exacerbate this.

Lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) is used to treat conditions other than lymphoedema, and RLD may be used similarly.
MLD may be useful with the following conditions

Chronic fatigue
Fibromyalgia
ME
Sinus problems
Migraines
Headaches
Muscular tension
Aches and pains
Premenstrual Syndrome
